Wow, it sure has been awhile since I’ve posted huh? Sorry, life has been sort of hectic with school, a lot of essays and writing for it, so I’ve been a little typed out so to speak. Well, I only have about two weeks left, give or take a few days. So hopefully, I’ll be able to post more often. I have a lot to review, the Jeffree Star liquid lipstick I bought, Kat Von D Monarch eyeshadow palette, Colourpop products, I may just have to do a big makeup haul review like I did with the E.L.F post I did a few months back. I don’t want to focus mainly on makeup, there are so many other blogs that do that, so I’m going to try to save makeup posts until I have enough new items to post one big long review. Just to try to stand out a bit.

Now here is a little late review of the January Lootcrate. The theme was Invasion.

It was a pretty cool crate, We got stuff from Alien, The X-Files, The Fifth Element, & Space Invaders. We aren’t big fans of The X-Files, so we weren’t too excited about the items included related to that. The rest of were really cool and the box was awesome.

Did anyone else spend their allowance at the nearest pizza place or arcade and waste it all on the video games? I remember being 8 years old and mowing the backyard just so I could get a couple bucks to take to the pizza place and exchange half of it for quarters so I could sit play either Galaga or Pacman. Whichever machine happened to be up and running. The other half of my money always went towards books, I’ve always been a huge bibliophilic.

You’ll be proud of me, I actually opened the Magazine and took some pictures this time!

This was my personal favorite part of the book. How to: Survive an Alien Invasion (For Geeks and Gamers). This was such a funny article. Very good advice such as: Not to trust books, namely those titled “how to serve humans.”, if you’re a Twilight Zone fan then you should get that reference.  Wear a helmet or other protective gear, a lot of aliens like to leave behind things that tend to go for the face, so a helmet is highly recommended.  And a very practical life advice they offer is “As a general rule, if it looks like a spider, it’s probably bad and you should avoid it. “

So with the New Year Lootcrate has released these new pins.

This one is really cool, and we already got our Lootcrate for this month and the pin is just as cool. I really like this little extra effort. And the best thing is, these pins include special codes that you enter into the Lootcrate website to get extra loot! This one has a code for a few comic “Letter 44” from ComiXology. We haven’t used ours yet, so I’m not sure what the comic is about honestly. But the idea is very cool, and I’m excited to see what the following months bring.

I mentioned we aren’t big and of The X-Files, mainly because we’ve never watched it. But this shirt is pretty cool.

I really love how comfy Lootcrates shirts are. I’m a bigger girl and their men's Large fits me like a glove. No complaints on this shirt either it’s a pretty sick design.

It also came with a flashlight…

I get that this box was influenced by The X-Files premier special thing, but I really think they could have included something a little cooler than a dollar store flashlight.  It’s not that bright and it feels very cheap. I don’t know, I’m just used to getting better quality items in the boxes.

Next was the Multi Pass.

When they said that this box would have The Fifth Element items I was seriously hoping for a Funko Pop! Figure of Ruby Rhod.

2/26/2016                                                      Sony Pictures Entertainment

But this is just as cool. I remember watching this movie over and over as a kid and just loving every second of it. I believe the little insert included is so you can use it to hold your person ID, I’m not too sure and don’t honestly trust using it for that because the thing is just a little piece of plastic that you can slide the card in/out of. Not very secure.

They also included two movie poster prints from “The Day The Earth Stood Still.” And “The War of The Worlds.”

These were really cool about 9 x8 in size. I love old movies, so these poster prints were really cool to me and had that retro/old school vibe that I love. I have them displayed proudly on my bookcase, but want to get frames for each so I can hang them up.

Another cool little display piece included was a Space Invaders Mini Alien Vinyl Figure.

This thing was so cool, I didn’t even know they made vinyl figures of this. I’m a huge collector of Funko Pop! Vinyl figures, so this really peaked my interest. According to the box there are about three different color varieties, white and orange, purple and blue, and green and blue. While orange is my favorite color (it was even the main color of my wedding in October.), I’m really happy with the green and blue. It looks more psychedelic and spacey.

Last but not least, we got a face hugger!!!!

How friggin cute is this thing? It’s like “Hi, I’m cute! Not I’m going to attach to your face and implant a baby in there that will explode out of your chest!” So cute right?? It came with a rubber band so you can attach it to your face, but it is just so much better to just use your hand.

On the tag, they have pictures of the Alien with his tongue sticking out (Little smiley on there too.) and the Chest Burst-er plushie as well. I need them both!!

And on to Level Up Accessories:

I really really loved how this necklace looked… But I have no friends to share it with. (Cry) I’ve seen a few of the older Star Trek episodes, mainly because of other family members watching it while I was in the room, it wasn’t until the release of the new movie series did I really get into it. This necklace is cool, and without doing any research I am assuming the quote “I am now and will forever be your friend.” Is something Spock or Kirk said to each other in an episode. I’m not 100% sure though so don’t take that as truth.

Final thoughts:

I don’t want to call this crate amazing, amazing would be like “Summoned” where everything in that box we really liked, the only thing in this box that we didn’t like thought was the flashlight and the overlying theme of The X-Files. With every box, there are always different franchises they could have chosen that would have been better fitted or, with this particular crate, me wishing they had included something other than two X-Files themed items. I will probably give this box’s theme a 6/10. The Face Hugger was my favorite item followed by the Space Invader Vinyl and the poster prints.

The accessory item was fantastic, I understand why there was only one item because the quality of this necklace is really high so I’m sure it is worth more than two items would together. I just wish I had a fellow nerdy friend to share it with.

So I hope you enjoyed my review of INVASION! Sorry if it’s a little longer than normal, I wanted to try to make up for not posting in a month.

Hope you are all doing well.
Kisses

January 2016 Lootcrate and LVL Up Invasion Collection

Thursday, January 21, 2016

Hi lovelies! Here is my first post of 2016, and it is also the 21st of January, and you know what that means!
Finally time for a review of last month’s Lootcrate and Lvl Up Accessories!
Yeah I know they’ve been out for a while, but I like to wait so that there are no spoilers for anyone who haven’t gotten their own lootcrate yet, and seeing as I got this months shipping notice for Lootcrate I think we are okay.

Decembers theme was:
Galaxy!!!!

A pretty exciting theme seeing as Star Wars: The Force Awakens was recently released. Needless to say the hubby and I were very excited and hoped for some exclusive merch. (BTW, TFA is an amazing movie and if you haven’t seen it then may Jar Jar Binks haunt your dreams!)
So when we got our box we were very excited to open it and he almost didn’t wait for me to get home before he opened the box. I’m so glad he did though because what was inside was actually pretty cool.

Let’s start with the Pin.

It was pretty cool actually, different from the rest of the pins we had gotten the past year and really stands out on our lanyard. (yes that’s the Agents of Shield badge from the ‘Covert’ box.)

BB-8 socks

The socks were very cool, just disappointing for me at least. They are small, very small. I cannot wear them without feeling like my calves are getting their circulation cut off. They fit my husband a bit better, but he said when he wears them he feels like he is slipping around inside his shoes so he doesn’t wear them often. (Ignore the pure electric sex on the table, during the holidays it goes on the table, rest of the year we keep it in the bedroom as a legit lamp lol.)

The Halo Tin

We are not Halo fans at all, and code for Supply REQ Pack was going wasted with us until we remembered one of his buddies is a huge halo nerd so we gifted the Tin and the code to him for Christmas and he was super appreciative. That’s not to say that it the tin wasn’t good quality. The art on the tin was top notch and looked pretty cool, it was kept shut with the snap-latch and held the rest of the boxes items inside.

Galaxy Quest Emblem Patch

Who doesn’t enjoy sci-fi parody movies? This prop replication created by Quantum Mechanix Inc. under licensing by Paramount Pictures is seriously cool. The stitching is done very nicely and seriously looks movie ready. And the fact that the late great Alan Rickman was in the movie makes this patch all the more special to me. I recently ordered the Snape Box from The Geeky Cauldron in his memory, I’ll be reviewing that too once it gets here. J

FUNKO POP!!!!

I am beyond addicted to these little figures (As I've mentioned in previous posts) and look forwarding to getting them from Lootcrate since my Husband doesn’t like me spending my money on them. When I saw the box inside the Halo Tin I was so excited I almost dropped the box when I picked it up. Han Solo, the OG smuggler. How cool is this Funko? I’m tempted to start collecting just Star Wars Funkos but they are some of the hardest ones to find! 0-0 luckily I got a spirit Yoda out of a trade lately. Han is now resting snuggly beside Leia and Stormtrooper Fin on top of my bookcase.

Last but not least, the Galaxy shirt.

This shirt is a space nerd heaven. Who doesn’t love nerdy sweaters? I myself own a Harry Potter themed nerdy sweater that I wear way too often. The mars rover with his snow man makes me wonder what extraterrestrial creature created the snowman seeing as the rover does not have arms, but who knows. The shirt fits comfortably, I got it in a 2XL female and it’s pretty loose honestly. But then again I am down a few sizes (Whoot Whoot), so maybe it’s just me. I know the XL from Marvel Collectors Corp fits me too, so it might just depend on the brand of shirt and material.

Almost forgot about the box itself!!

It created a #Lootcrate Loot-Cryo box. It was actually pretty cool looking and one of the easiest boxes to fold. If I had to say which box was the hardest for me to put together/fold right it would have to be the ‘Summon’ box, For some reason folding that box was so hard for me. I ended up taping part of it just to make it stay.

Lvl Up Accessories

Same theme as the box, Galaxy. And for once I was actually glad that they decided to do two items from the same franchise.

Darth Vader charm

This little charm is actually really adorable and cute. I have it clipped onto my purse and get a lot of compliments on it. My only complaint with it is that the hoops on it snagged on my knitted sweater and I had to take off that hoop and the clip so now it hangs by the larger hoop that I attached to the front of my purse instead of the zipper just so it won’t snag my sweater anymore.

BB-8 clutch

Coincidence or not who knows, but I happened to get a totally kicka$$ BB-8 scarf from Christmas from my Grammy right after I got this now I have the perfect accessories set. The clutch is the perfect size for days that you don’t want to carry around a huge purse. My phone doesn’t fit inside it but I have pockets for that. My ID, Credit cards/Debit cards, spare change, tissue pack, and a lipstick for touchups all fit inside no problem. I use it daily for week because I keep my ID in it so I can badge in and out without having to take my wallet with me to work. (Leather purse/wallet and dusty work area does not mix well at all.) It came inside a clear clutch that looks like it might be the Deathstar plans or Starkiller/Destroyer plans.

Final thoughts:
Galaxy was a pretty cool theme, it was relevant to current times also due to the Star Wars release and the items chosen fit the theme very well. I believe the accessory items will last longer and be used more than previous ones. My Pokémon bracelet from the ‘Summon’ collection broke a few months ago and I rarely use the Harley Quinn travel bag from the ‘Villians 2’ collection because it’s on the smaller size and I can’t fit all my products in it when we do travel. The t-shirt was cool, it wasn’t themed other than Galaxy and I believe the anniversary of the Hubble Telescope? I may be wrong, I know it is inside the magazine from the month but I never keep those things for some reason. I’m a horrible reviewer I know.

Anyways, we were very pleased with the Galaxy box, and I was very pleased with my accessories collection. BB-8 is my new favorite Star Wars Character next to the Jawas. I love that sound they say and every time my husband plays Battelfront I run into the room yelling “ootini!!” I’m short enough that I may just be a Jawa for Halloween this year, though I am playing with the idea of being Peggy Carter.

Well I hope you guys enjoyed my review for the Lootcrate Galaxy box from December 2015. I hope you all had a great 2015, and that 2016 stated just as great!

                                                                                                                                         Xoxo,

December 2015 Lootcrate and LVL Up Galaxy Collection

Monday, December 21, 2015

Man this time of year is so busy for us, so I'm sorry I haven't gotten around to posting this review yet! Holidays are always hectic so I’m sure you all understand where I’m coming from when I say I just haven’t gotten around to actually writing the review for November’s Lootcrate, but here it is now for you all. I’m sorry it’s so late, but at least I posted it before the new one got here.

Lootcrate November Theme: Combat.

With hints for Fallout, Hunger Games, Street Fighter, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I was very excited and it had me jumping up and down for joy. So come November 21st when we received out box I was beyond excited and could hardly contain myself while I waited for the hubby to get home from work so we could open it together.

The items inside were all very cool and fit the theme of “Combat” perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of items in this box.

Look at the art in the box! How friggen cool is this?

Our own little wasteland to display our Pip Boy in! I have a Deathclaw Funko, I’m almost tempted to open the box and put him in there with the Pip Boy.

This was given to my Brother-in-Law because I’m not a Starcraft fan. He said she is called The Queen of Blades.

Got to love the Mocking Jay Pin. Huge fan of the books (Except the ending of the series.) and seen all the movies up to the most recent film in the series. Unfortunately I've heard I'm not missing much.

"Teenage mutant ninja turtles
Teenage mutant ninja turtles
Teenage mutant ninja turtles
Heroes in a half shell, turtle power!!"

These Shredder glasses are the coolest. My husband claimed these as his, but has yet to actually wear them out of the house.

I'm not a big sticker person, mainly because I never have anywhere to stick them, but Cute but Deadly, how fitting. I miss playing W.O.W and seeing all the cool creatures they have. My favorite W.O.W/Blizzard creature has to be the Merlocs. I just now the way they sound when they chase you.

Final Thoughts:

All together the Combat Lootcrate was pretty cool. I didn’t really read the comic, and honestly I never do, I’m not much of a comic reader but if you guys really want me too, I’ll post pictures of it if you ask along with the book for this box.
I think my favorite items were the Pip Boy Bobble and the Mocking Jay Pin. Next month is Galaxy with exclusive items from Star Wars and Halo I believe, having just seen The Force Awakens Sunday I'm really excited for this and I'm hoping to get something with BB8 or Ray on it. :)

Level Up Accessories: The Combat Collection.

As always, Accessories has the theme as the Lootcrates of that month. So these items were 'Combat' Themed as well, and they did not disappoint. I was very excited that they did two items from different categories relating to Combat, rather than just two items from the same category.

The necklace is very nice quality, I've worn it almost daily since I got it and it has not turned my skin green, the color/paint has not rubbed off and my hair has not gotten stick in the chain which often happens to me with lower quality necklaces.

The bag is by far my favorite thing I've gotten from Level Up accessories since subscribing. I love pinup art and Fallout, so the combination of the two just makes this bag entirely more epic.

By far the coolest thing about it, is the reversibility. After you unfold it out of the Nuka Cola bottle cap shape it comes in, you can still have the bottle cap on the back as a pocket! Comes in handy.
We used it to haul ingredients to my Mother-in-Law's house for Thanksgiving and we were able to fit everything but the turkey in there.

Needless to say if we were in the wasteland this bag would greatly come in handy.

Final Thoughts:

I really have to say I was highly impressed with this box. The qualities of the items inside were great and did not lack anything. My only negative comment about this month is that I wish we could have gotten something cooler then stickers, but they did fit with the theme of Combat so I can't complain too much since I'm the one who doesn't like stickers. I'm sure a lot of other subscribers were very happy with their stickers. I didn’t see anything Street Fighter in my crate, but I wonder if maybe in the mystery box that The Queen of Blades came in someone else got a Street Fighter character, or if he was just part of the art and themed videos and that’s it.

November 2015 Loot Crate and LVL Up Combat Collection

Wednesday, October 28, 2015

Greetings fellow nerds, It’s the end of that month, and that means Lootcrate and Lootcrate Lvl Up + review time!!!

LootCrate TIME:
8/10
Just because of the T-shirt and the Sonic Spoon not being for me sorry.

Okay so, Seriously this was one of the coolest Lootcrates ever!! I love Back to the Future and the fact that we got all these cool exclusive items was so exciting! Not to mention the awesome Funko doll. I’m an avid collector of Funko! Pop dolls, so I’m super happy being able to add the Doc to my collection. The sonic spoon is pretty cool, but I’ve never watched a single episode of Doctor Who so I couldn’t really get too excited about it. The same thing with the T-shirt, I’ve never seen Bill & Teds Excellent Adventure, plus the shirt is super super tiny. Doesn’t even fit my husband. So while it is a cool shirt, I won’t be wearing it any time soon. OMG Dat Hoverboard!! It’s so friggen sick! It has now earned a spot on the TV stand in the living room instead of being cluttered on my already overfull bookcase.

It's time for a new bookcase I know.

LvL Up+ Accessories Time:
3/10
Cool items, not for me.
Meh. Again, not a big Doctor Who fan. I feel kind of jipped on this months accessories. I mean yeah Doctor Who has a HUGE fan base, but it would have been nice to include two items from two different areas in the TIME category.

**cough cough**Time Turner**Cough cough**
Sorry about that, I think I had something caught in my mouth or something.

But they are really cool items, just not for this nerd. Thankfully a friend of mine kindly traded me these items for her October Fandom of the Month Bag.

The theme was Supernatural so I was completely okay with trading lol.
